Lead a friendly team in a hands-on warehouse role

Best Packaging is looking for an experienced Warehouse Supervisor to take ownership of the day-to-day operations of our warehouse. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you’ll lead a team of 3–4 and help ensure our customers receive the right products, on time and to a high standard. This is a practical, hands-on role for someone who takes pride in accuracy, organisation and great customer service.

Your responsibilities

- Coordinate the daily workflow and logistics of the warehouse team.

- Receive and identify products, check quality, and pick, pack and despatch orders accurately.

- Maintain accurate inventory and shipment transactions, investigate stock discrepancies and help keep stock records reliable.

- Use our Fishbowl inventory database. Training will be provided; experience with other stock-control databases would be an advantage.

- Organise warehouse storage and inventory space.

- Work closely with sales staff to support orders for walk-in customers.

- Allocate work fairly, making effective use of each team member’s strengths.

- Usually complete a delivery run each day; most deliveries are handled by our dedicated driver.

- Work with management on staff performance, attendance and disciplinary matters.

- Keep the warehouse and yard clean, tidy, organised and compliant with OH&S; requirements.

- Assist management with OH&S; reporting.

- Keep the warehouse truck, vans and forklifts clean and maintained.





- Coordinate other activities as required by management.

What you’ll bring

- Established experience supervising warehouse operations.

- A sound understanding of warehouse management and operational fundamentals.

- Proven experience organising and coordinating a small team.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well with management, sales staff, drivers, colleagues and customers.

- Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with close attention to detail.

- A friendly, professional phone manner.

- The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume setting.

- Current forklift and driver’s licences are essential.

The physical side of the role

Some manual handling is involved when picking stock, including bulky items such as bubble wrap and foam rolls. Polytubing rolls weigh approximately 5–30 kg. Trolleys are available to assist with moving stock.
