About the role

Perfect Beginnings Childcare is seeking a passionate and dedicated Outdoor Educator to join our team, 5 days a week. Based in Underwood, QLD 4119, this role is fundamental to delivering high-quality outdoor learning experiences that foster children's development, curiosity and connection with nature. As an Outdoor Educator, you will design and facilitate engaging outdoor activities that promote physical, cognitive, social and emotional growth whilst ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all children in your care.

What you'll be doing

- Design and implement engaging outdoor learning activities that align with early childhood education frameworks and children's developmental stages and our Montessori philosophy

- Supervise and support children during outdoor play, ensuring a safe and stimulating environment

- Encourage children to explore natural environments, develop gross motor skills and build confidence through outdoor play

- Facilitate nature-based learning experiences including gardening, nature discovery and environmental awareness activities

- Maintain outdoor spaces and equipment to ensure they are clean, safe and developmentally appropriate

- Document and observe children's outdoor learning experiences and share observations with educators and families

- Support children's physical activity and promote healthy, active lifestyles

- Collaborate with the broader childcare team to integrate outdoor learning into the overall curriculum

- Implement and model positive behaviour guidance strategies in outdoor settings





- Communicate regularly with families about their children's outdoor learning experiences and development

- Plan offsite excursion for Busk Kindy

What we're looking for

- A current Certificate Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care or equivalent qualification recognised in Australia

- Current First Aid and CPR certification

- Current level 1,2,3,4 & 5 child protection training

- Experience working with young children in educational or childcare settings

- Strong knowledge of the EYLF and willingness to learn about Montessori

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with children, families and colleagues

- Physical fitness and the ability to actively engage with children outdoors in varying weather conditions

- Passion for outdoor learning and nature-based education

- Ability to create inclusive and welcoming outdoor learning environments

- Problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt activities to meet children's individual needs and interests

- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professional boundaries

- Demonstrated commitment to child safety and wellbeing

- Ability to support our children in the daily care needs of our pet chickens
