AGED CARE FACILITY MANAGERHOBART, TASMANIA | PERMANENT FULL-TIME

A NEW LEADERSHIP CHAPTER. A FRESH PERSPECTIVE. A MEANINGFUL IMPACT.

Are you an experienced Aged Care Facility Manager ready for a change, or a senior clinical leader looking for the opportunity to step into your first Facility Manager position?

Perhaps you are an established Facility Manager who would welcome the opportunity to lead a smaller residential home, enjoy a more hands-on leadership role and reconnect with the people who make aged care meaningful.

Or perhaps you are a Clinical Manager, Care Manager or Deputy Facility Manager who has developed the experience, confidence and leadership capability to take the next step.

Either way, this could be the opportunity you’ve been waiting for.

GLH Recruitment & Executive Search is partnering with an aged care organisation to identify an accomplished, compassionate and commercially astute Facility Manager to lead a residential aged care home in Hobart, Tasmania.

This is more than an operational management appointment. It is an opportunity to influence the quality of care, shape workplace culture, develop people and create an environment where residents feel genuinely valued and employees take pride in what they do.

WHY THIS OPPORTUNITY?

Not every career progression needs to mean a bigger facility, a larger workforce or more layers of management.

Sometimes, the most rewarding next move is finding the right environment where your leadership can have a more direct and meaningful impact.

For an experienced Facility Manager, this could be an opportunity to transition into a more focused residential setting, where you can remain closely connected to residents, employees, clinical outcomes and daily operations.

For an emerging leader, it could be the opportunity to take ownership of a facility, broaden your management responsibilities and establish yourself as a successful Facility Manager.

Whatever stage of your leadership journey you are at, we are interested in meeting people who understand that exceptional aged care starts with exceptional leadership.

THE ROLE

Taking overall responsibility for the facility’s operational, clinical, financial and workforce performance, you will provide visible and effective leadership while ensuring residents receive safe, high-quality and individualised care.

Working collaboratively with senior management, clinical leaders, employees, residents and families, you will drive operational excellence while building a positive, accountable and supportive workplace culture.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Facility Leadership & Operational Management

- Provide overall leadership and direction for the residential aged care home.
- Oversee daily operations, service delivery and organisational performance.
- Drive operational efficiency, accountability and continuous improvement.

- Provide oversight of clinical governance, resident safety and quality outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with the Aged Care Act, strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Monitor clinical risks, incidents, audits and quality improvement initiatives.
- Promote evidence-based practice and a culture of safety and accountability.

People Leadership & Workforce Development

- Lead, mentor and develop a multidisciplinary aged care workforce.
- Build a positive culture of engagement, collaboration and professional accountability.
- Oversee workforce planning, recruitment, retention and performance management.
- Support clinical leaders and employees to achieve their full potential.

Financial & Commercial Performance

- Manage operational budgets, expenditure and resource allocation.
- Monitor financial performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Demonstrate commercial awareness while maintaining quality and resident-centred care.
- Ensure resources are utilised effectively and responsibly.

Resident, Family & Stakeholder Relationships

- Build meaningful relationships with residents, families and representatives.
- Promote dignity, choice, independence and individualised care.
- Maintain effective relationships with healthcare professionals and external stakeholders.
- Address feedback and concerns with empathy, transparency and professionalism.

ABOUT YOU

We are looking for a confident, people-oriented and commercially aware aged care professional who can balance operational responsibilities with genuine compassion for residents and employees.

You may be an established Facility Manager looking for a different environment, or a senior clinical leader ready to demonstrate your capability at the next level.

Ideally, you will bring:

- Demonstrated leadership experience within residential aged care or a comparable healthcare environment.
- Strong knowledge of aged care legislation, clinical governance, regulatory compliance and quality improvement.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and managing complex workforce requirements.
- The ability to oversee operational performance, budgets and financial resources.
- Strong communication, decision-making and stakeholder management capabilities.
- The confidence to lead change, manage challenges and build a high-performing team.
- A genuine commitment to resident dignity, safety, choice and quality of life.

Tertiary qualifications in Nursing, Healthcare Management, Aged Care or Business will be highly regarded.

WHAT’S ON OFFER?

- Permanent full-time leadership appointment.
- Competitive remuneration + Temporary Accommodation + Relocation Assistance if required
- An opportunity to lead and influence a residential aged care home in Hobart.
- Scope to shape workplace culture, strengthen clinical governance and improve resident outcomes.
- An opportunity for an experienced Facility Manager to explore a different management environment.
