About the Opportunity Powerdata Group is seeking an experienced
Senior Azure Data Platform Engineer / Architect
to support a major enterprise data platform uplift for a leading Australian financial services organisation.
The engagement involves working within an established Azure data platform and aligned data framework to uplift, standardise and migrate enterprise data assets, implement reusable data products and optimise analytics capabilities across the organisation.
This is a hands-on delivery role suited to a senior consultant who can operate independently, engage with business and technical stakeholders and deliver practical outcomes in complex enterprise environments.
Key Responsibilities Assess and uplift existing Azure data platform components.
Analyse and document dependencies across ingestion pipelines, business rules and semantic models.
Migrate and optimise ETL/ELT processes.
Develop and implement Azure data engineering solutions.
Design and deliver reusable data products.
Implement and support medallion architecture patterns.
Develop and optimise Azure SQL database objects and transformation logic.
Support enterprise reporting and analytics capabilities through Power BI.
Perform data validation, reconciliation and quality assurance activities.
Contribute to technical documentation, operational runbooks and knowledge transfer activities.
Participate in governance, risk management and stakeholder engagement activities.
Requirements
Essential Skills and Experience Demonstrated experience designing and delivering solutions using:
DataOps and CI/CD deployment practices
Robust experience with:
Data warehousing
ETL and ELT design
Data transformation frameworks
Master and reference data concepts
Data reconciliation and testing
Data governance implementation
Reporting and Analytics Experience with:
Power BI
Semantic models
DAX
Enterprise reporting and dashboard solutions
