This role asks for an engineer who can build and refine the customer-facing parts of a 3D platform, from UI features to shared components and APIs. A strong candidate brings deep front-end skill, a feel for interaction design, and experience keeping large data-heavy interfaces fast and responsive. They should also work well with product, design and other teams, and be able to pick up unfamiliar technical areas quickly.

How it fits the AI era

AI helps classify data and run complex scenario analysis, but the engineer's job is to turn those results into a explicit, fast experience that experts can trust. The human side stays in judging what utilities need, shaping workflows, and making performance and design trade-offs. AI may speed up some coding and testing, but the craft of building a fluent, reliable interface remains central.

How it builds AI experience

Working here means building the interface for a physics-based digital twin that uses machine learning for data classification and scenario analysis. That gives hands-on exposure to how AI outputs are presented and used in high-stakes decisions about power networks. To prepare, one could practise building data-heavy 3D or geospatial tools and learn how simulation and ML results are surfaced to expert users.

Worth showing

- Front-end performance at scale
- 3D or WebGL rendering
- Product sense and judgement
- Fast learning in new areas
