We are seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to become a dedicated technical resource in a team supporting one of our key enterprise clients. Supporting an environment of approximately 1,000 users, this role offers the opportunity to work across enterprise infrastructure, Microsoft cloud technologies, networking, cybersecurity, and strategic project delivery.

The Opportunity

This is far more than a traditional support role.

You'll be part of our dedicated team taking ownership of a significant enterprise environment, working closely with client teams while being backed by Stellar Systems' experienced technical and leadership resources. The role combines proactive infrastructure management, project delivery and technical leadership. This role will report to our Service Delivery Manager.

Based in Brisbane at our client's office, you'll be responsible for maintaining and enhancing a complex IT environment while identifying opportunities for continual improvement, security enhancement, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide Level 2 and Level 3 infrastructure support.
- Manage and resolve server, network, and systems issues.




- Proactively monitor and remediate system alerts.
- Perform maintenance, upgrades, and infrastructure optimisation.
- Ensure the client's environment remains secure, stable, and performant.

Network Administration

- Configure and maintain firewalls, routers, and switching infrastructure.
- Support Internet, MPLS, and SD-WAN connectivity solutions.
- Troubleshoot TCP/IP, DNS, NAT, routing, and firewall-related issues.
- Liaise with vendors and telecommunications providers
- Manage Microsoft Entra ID, MFA, and Conditional Access.
- Support Active Directory, Group Policy, and identity management.
- Assist with cloud integrations, automation, and modern workplace initiatives.

Projects & Continuous Improvement

- Assist with delivery of infrastructure and cloud projects.
- Participate in technology upgrades and refresh programs.
- Assist with site commissioning and decommissioning activities.
- Recommend improvements to system reliability, security, and performance.
- Attend client IT meetings and act as a trusted technical advisor.

Documentation & Service Delivery

- Maintain accurate technical documentation.
- Ensure all work is documented within the service management platform.




- Contribute to process improvement and technical standards.
- Support effective knowledge transfer across technical teams.

About You

- Minimum 5 years' experience in IT and at least 1 year in a similar role.
- Proven expertise in Windows Server, Hyper-V, Active Directory, and Microsoft 365.
- Networking skills across routing, switching, VPNs, and firewalls.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and take ownership of outcomes.
- Current Australian driver's licence and unrestricted working rights.

Highly Regarded

- Previous MSP experience.
- Microsoft certifications.
- Experience with Datto products.
- Exposure to cybersecurity frameworks and security best practices.
- Experience supporting enterprise environments with 500+ users.
- Support a dedicated enterprise client environment of approximately 1,000 users
- Work with modern Microsoft, cloud, networking, and cybersecurity technologies
- Exposure to complex infrastructure and enterprise-level projects
