About the Role

This is a hands-on estimating role focused on preparing accurate quotations, reviewing project documentation, identifying project requirements and supporting tender submissions.

You'll work with customer enquiries, architectural drawings, specifications, schedules and tender documentation to develop pricing for our range of products and services. You'll help ensure quotations are commercially competitive, technically appropriate and submitted within required timeframes.

Working closely with our Business Development, Sales and Project Delivery teams,

you'll play an important role in identifying project requirements, clarifying scope, coordinating pricing information and helping convert opportunities into secured work.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

- Reviewing customer enquiries, architectural drawings, specifications, bills of quantities and tender documentation.
- Preparing accurate and competitive quotations, cost estimates, pricing schedules and tender submissions.
- Interpreting project requirements to identify the appropriate products, quantities, finishes, installation requirements and scope of works.
- Calculating material, fabrication, supply and installation costs, where applicable.
- Obtaining and coordinating supplier, subcontractor and internal pricing information.
- Identifying scope gaps, exclusions, assumptions and potential variations before quotations are submitted.
- Liaising with customers, builders, contractors and consultants to clarify technical and commercial requirements.
- Monitoring tender opportunities through EstimateOne and other construction tender platforms.
- Managing multiple quotations and tender deadlines while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
- Following up submitted quotations and assisting the sales team with pricing queries and commercial negotiations.
- Maintaining accurate pricing information, quotation records and opportunity details within internal systems.
- Coordinating with internal teams to ensure successful handover of awarded projects.
- Identifying opportunities to improve estimating processes, pricing consistency and quotation turnaround times.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who is detail-oriented, commercially minded and comfortable working with project documentation, pricing information and deadlines.

You may already be working as an Estimator, Junior Estimator, Internal Estimator, Estimating Assistant, Tender Administrator or Sales Estimator. You might also have experience in construction, building products, manufacturing, steel fabrication or a related industry and be ready to develop your estimating career.

Most importantly, you'll be someone who takes ownership of their work, enjoys solving problems and understands the importance of accurate, timely and competitive pricing.

Ideally, you'll bring:

- Experience in estimating, quotation preparation, tender administration, construction pricing or a similar commercial role.
- The ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications and project documentation, or a willingness to develop these skills.
- Strong numerical skills and excellent attention to detail.

- Good organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple quotations and competing deadlines.
- Commercial awareness and an understanding of how accurate pricing contributes to project profitability.
- Confidence communicating with customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders to clarify requirements and obtain pricing information.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, with the ability to learn internal estimating and CRM systems.
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach and the ability to work independently while contributing to a team.

Experience with EstimateOne, construction tender platforms, architectural drawings, building products, steel fabrication, manufacturing, security systems or infrastructure projects will be highly regarded.

Experience with take-offs, bills of quantities, supplier pricing and installation costing would also be advantageous.

Mandarin language skills would be an additional advantage.

What Will Help You Succeed?

The right person for this role will be someone who:

- Takes ownership of quotations from initial enquiry through to submission and follow-up.
- Is methodical and thorough when reviewing drawings, specifications and project requirements.
- Understands the importance of accuracy, consistency and attention to detail in estimating.
- Can prioritise competing deadlines without compromising the quality of their work.
- Thinks commercially and looks for practical, cost-effective solutions.
- Communicates clearly with customers, suppliers and colleagues to resolve pricing and scope questions.
- Is keen to learn our products, improve estimating processes and contribute to winning more projects.

You don't need to know everything about bollards, HVM systems or perimeter security before joining us. If you have a strong foundation in estimating, a willingness to learn and the drive to produce quality work, we'll help you develop the specialist knowledge you need.
