Help shape a new school. Make a difference that lasts.
R.I.S.E. College (Resilience, Identity, Skills, Engagement) is a new Special Assistance School offering Year 11 and 12 students a different educational pathway for young people who have disengaged from mainstream education and would benefit from a more flexible, supportive and individualised approach to learning.
As a subsidiary of CoAct, a national not-for-profit organisation supporting Australians through employment, education and community services, R.I.S.E. College is preparing to open to students in Term 2 2027.
We're looking for passionate and experienced teachers to join our foundation team in Woolloongabba, Brisbane. Our teachers will commence in Term 1, 2027, providing dedicated time to work together, prepare for opening and help shape the College from the beginning.
About the prospect
As a teacher at R.I.S.E. College, you'll create an engaging, inclusive and supportive learning environment where students can reconnect with education, build confidence and work towards their future aspirations.
You'll plan and deliver engaging learning experiences within your teaching subject area, adapting your approach to meet the diverse needs, abilities and interests of students. Working collaboratively with colleagues, you'll help establish a culture of belonging, resilience, personal growth and high expectations.
We're looking for educators who understand the value of strong relationships, meaningful learning opportunities and helping young people recognise their potential.
With our foundation teaching team commencing in January 2027, ahead of students joining us in Term 2, you'll have dedicated time to prepare for opening and help establish our teaching practices,
learning culture and student experience. You'll bring your ideas and experience to the way we teach, work together and support students from day one.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- a recognised teaching qualification and current registration with the Queensland College of Teachers (QCT);
- demonstrated teaching experience, particularly within senior secondary year levels, is highly regarded;
- experience supporting young people with diverse learning needs in alternative, specialist or inclusive education settings is desirable but not essential;
