Job Advertisement – Chef – Oasis Cafe, Macquarie Park

About the role
Oasis Cafe is seeking an experienced and talented Chef to join our team at our Macquarie Park location. As our Chef, you will play a key role in preparing, cooking, and delivering a variety of high-quality dishes, maintaining kitchen standards, and supervising kitchen staff. This is a full-time position, and the successful candidate will be a hands-on chef responsible for daily kitchen operations.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare, cook, and present a wide range of hot and cold dishes according to recipes and quality standards
- Ensure all food is prepared to the highest standard of quality, taste, and presentation
- Supervise and provide guidance to kitchen staff, including training and mentoring
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised kitchen environment, complying with food safety and hygiene regulations
- Monitor stock levels, place orders, and manage inventory to minimise waste
- Assist in menu planning and development of new dishes
- Estimate food costs and ensure kitchen operations are cost-effective

Requirements / Skills

- Formal culinary qualifications (Certificate III/IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent)
- Proven experience as a Chef in a café or restaurant environment (minimum 2 years)




- Excellent cooking skills and knowledge of a wide range of cooking techniques
- Strong time management, multitasking, and organisational skills
- Ability to supervise and train kitchen staff effectively
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high quality standards
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Australian work rights or eligibility for employer sponsorship
