Payroll Officer – Temporary Contract

Are you an experienced payroll professional who can hit the ground running, take ownership and keep everything ticking along?

VetLove is looking for a reliable, organised and detail-oriented Payroll Officer to join our support team on a temporary basis.

We have approximately 200 employees across our veterinary clinics in South East Queensland and Northern NSW, and we're looking for someone who can confidently manage our established payroll processes using Employment Hero and Xero.

The Role

Our workforce is split into Northern and Southern teams, with approximately 100 employees processed every Monday/Tuesday on alternating fortnightly pay cycles.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Managing end-to-end payroll for approximately 200 employees.
- Processing payroll every Tuesday for approximately 100 employees.
- Reviewing timesheets, leave, allowances, overtime and payroll adjustments.
- Managing new starters, terminations and changes to employee details.
- Ensuring payroll compliance with relevant Up-to-date Awards, superannuation and Australian employment legislation.
- Responding to payroll queries from employees and clinic managers.
- Completing payroll reconciliations and working closely with our finance team.





About You

We're looking for someone who:

- Has proven experience independently managing payroll for 100+ employees.
- Is confident using Employment Hero and Xero.
- Has a strong understanding of Australian payroll legislation and Modern Awards.
- Is exceptionally organised, accurate and comfortable working to deadlines.
- Can quickly step into an established payroll system with minimal supervision.
- Is approachable, reliable and understands the importance of confidentiality.
- Is available to commence at short notice.
