Commissioner, NSW Law Reform Commission (Part time)

The Attorney General is seeking applications for appointment as Commissioner of the NSW Law Reform Commission for up to 3 years, part-time. The Commissioner works closely with the Chairperson, other Commissioners and Secretariat staff to undertake law reform references given to the Commission under the Law Reform Commission Act 1967 . The Commission currently has two references:

- Anti-Discrimination Act review
- Unlawful Injury and Death of Infants and Children review

- is recognised as a leader in one or more fields of law
- has extensive experience in, and demonstrated aptitude for, law reform and law reform processes (including consultation)
- displays the highest standard of judgment and integrity, and
- has a proven ability to work collaboratively and collegiately alongside other professionals.





A person is qualified to be appointed as Commissioner under the Law Reform Commission Act if, in the opinion of the Attorney General, they are suitable for appointment by reason of:

- being or having been the holder of judicial office
- experience as an Australian legal practitioner in legal practice
- experience as a teacher of law
- academic attainment in law, or
- their special qualifications, training or experience.
