An opportunity is available for an experienced Financial Controller to join an organisation operating within a complex infrastructure and service environment on an initial six-month interim basis, with the potential to continue or become permanent for the right person.

This role will suit a senior finance professional who enjoys working close to the business, leading a small team and operating in a regulated, fast-moving environment with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.

About the role

Working closely with the executive team, operational leaders and external partners, you will provide finance leadership across the organisation, ensuring strong financial control, governance and commercial decision-making.

Key responsibilities will include:

- Leading financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis.
- Maintaining strong financial controls, governance frameworks and compliance processes.
- Providing financial insight to support business planning, operational decisions and organisational performance.
- Overseeing cost control, performance reporting and financial risk management.
- Supporting audit, statutory reporting and regulatory requirements.
- Driving improvements across finance systems, processes and reporting.
- Leading and developing a small finance team.
- Building effective relationships with senior executives, regulators, external advisers, partners and stakeholders.

This is a hands-on role requiring someone who can move comfortably between strategic advice and the detail. You will bring sound judgement, credibility and a practical approach to a complex and highly regulated environment.

About you

You will be a qualified finance leader, ideally CA or CPA, with experience in one or more of the following environments:

- Infrastructure, construction,



utilities, transport, energy, engineering or other asset-intensive sectors.
- Regulated or highly scrutinised industries with complex stakeholder relationships.
- Organisations undergoing growth, transformation or operational change.
- Businesses requiring strong cost control, reporting and financial governance.

You will also bring:

- Strong technical capability across financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, controls and compliance.
- An understanding of formal governance, policy, approval and risk frameworks.
- The ability to work effectively with senior leaders and a broad range of stakeholders.
- A collaborative leadership style and experience leading a small, capable team.
- The confidence to operate strategically while remaining close to the detail.
- Strong communication, commercial judgement and stakeholder management skills.
- A proactive, adaptable and hands-on approach.
