Looking for a career, not just a job?
At Guiding Fox, we take the work seriously, not ourselves. We’re a fun, Perth-based registered NDIS provider who are great at what we do and love doing it (yes, we laugh at work, and yes, we still get things done). We’re looking for experienced support workers who want to build real, lasting relationships with the people they support and with the team around them.
We have a variety of roles available supporting people with complex needs. Consistency is the secret sauce here, so we want someone who’s in it for the long haul, not just the next pay cycle.
What you’ll need
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working with Children Check
- Completed NDIS Worker Orientation Module, Quality, Safety and You
- Current First Aid and CPR certificate
- Experience with seizure management, including recognising seizure types, following a seizure management plan and staying calm and capable when it counts
- At least 12 months’ experience supporting people with disability, ideally with complex or high-intensity needs
- Strong English skills (written and verbal) so that you can have clear conversations and write accurate shift notes and incident reports
- Strong relationship-building skills, with the ability to build trust,
rapport and genuine connection with the participant and the people around them
- Willingness to follow behaviour support plans, health plans and participant-specific protocols specifically
- Valid driver’s licence and a reliable, comprehensively insured vehicle
- Right to work in Australia
- Reliability and flexibility, including availability for sleepover shifts
Bonus points if you have
- Certificate III or IV in Individual Support or Disability and/or significant hands-on experience, including lived experience
- Training in medication administration, manual handling or complex health supports
- Experience implementing behaviour support plans
- Experience with alternative communication methods such as AAC and key word sign
- Mental health first aid or de-escalation training
- An intent to work long term with a participant
The kind of person we’re looking for
Someone patient and steady under pressure, who sees the person before the disability. Warm, dependable and the kind of person a participant looks forward to seeing. A team player who works well with the whole support team.
