- You count carefully and get it right the first time. Your stock counts are sent to our office and used for customer invoicing, so they need to be exact.
- You check bit numbers, part codes and quantities against what the paperwork says, and you raise any difference straight away rather than letting it slide.
- You keep your records tidy and send them on time: stock counts, issues to the customer, returns and resharpened bits.
Keeping the mine supplied
- You understand that when a drill crew needs a tool underground, it has to be there. You plan ahead and keep stock levels up so the crews never wait on us.
- You stay organised under pressure. You prepare, pack and hand over rock tools so they’re ready to go underground when needed.
- You work well with the site’s drilling and supervisory teams and are someone they can rely on.
Hands-on technical ability
- You have experience as a driller’s assistant, rock tools technician,
or in a similar mining or drilling role.
- You can learn, or already have, bit sharpening skills, and you can inspect tools for wear and damage.
- You’re mechanically minded and take pride in looking after equipment.
Safety and attitude
- You put safety first and follow site procedures without needing reminders.
- You work reliably on your own, since you’ll often be Robit’s only representative on site.
- You communicate clearly and honestly, and you take ownership of your area.
Desirable
- Underground experience and current site inductions or tickets (e.g. Working at Heights, Confined Space, forklift)
- Experience with inventory or consignment stock systems
- A current driver’s licence
- You’re comfortable with FIFO life and have a lifestyle that suits an 8/6 roster. Ideally you have FIFO experience already.
