Health & Wellness Rehab

Canberra

We're looking for someone who thinks about rehabilitation the way we do.

Someone who understands the complexity of helping people navigate health and work, enjoys developing others and takes pride in delivering quality services.

We're looking for an experienced allied health professional to oversee our rehabilitation services, develop our team and help shape the next stage of HWR's growth.

About HWR

Health & Wellness Rehab is a boutique workplace rehabilitation provider based in Canberra ACT.

We are an approved Workplace Rehabilitation Provider within the Comcare scheme, with experience across Comcare, NSW and ACT workers compensation schemes.

Our work spans early intervention, return to work, reasonable adjustments, work capacity, vocational rehabilitation, occupational health, training and coaching, and complex workplace situations.

We are not a high-volume, transactional provider. We value qualified judgement, strong relationships and thoughtful, practical outcomes.

About the role

As Rehabilitation Services Manager, you will lead the day-to-day delivery of HWR's rehabilitation services, reporting to the Managing Director. You will be responsible for skilled practice, team development and service performance. You will guide our consultants, oversee the quality of our services and ensure we meet contractual requirements and agreed service level expectations.

Key responsibilities

People leadership and professional practice

- Lead, mentor and develop rehabilitation consultants, supporting their professional capability and growth.

- Oversee the quality of rehabilitation services, including file reviews, report quality, documentation and skilled standards.

- Provide technical and professional guidance on complex cases, assessments and rehabilitation strategies.

- Promote consistent, evidence-informed and practical approaches to workplace rehabilitation.

- Contribute to recruitment and onboarding.

Service performance and reporting

- Monitor service level agreements (SLAs),

contractual requirements and key performance indicators (KPIs).

- Track report due dates, outstanding reports, referral activity, case progression and other service delivery measures.

- Prepare and review regular management and client performance reports.

- Identify emerging issues, service delivery risks and opportunities for improvement.

- Use technology and reporting systems effectively to monitor performance, maintain accurate information and support informed decision-making.

Client relationships and service delivery

- Ensure client expectations are consistently met.

- Maintain strong relationships with key clients, government agencies and stakeholders.

- Address service concerns and work through issues to achieve positive outcomes.

- Monitor team capacity, workload allocation and service delivery priorities.

- Work with the Managing Director to continuously improve service delivery.

Rehabilitation consultancy

- Maintain a small portfolio of selected complex cases and assessments, focusing on those that will benefit most from your experience and expertise.

- Stay connected to frontline rehabilitation practice, keeping your skills current and your leadership grounded in real case experience.

About you

You are an experienced allied health professional with a strong understanding of workplace rehabilitation and the relationship between health, function and work.

You have sound professional judgement and are comfortable balancing qualified practice, people leadership and service delivery responsibilities.

You will have:

- A recognised allied health qualification.

- Substantial experience in workplace rehabilitation, occupational health, workers compensation or a related field.

- Strong professional knowledge and confidence supporting complex cases.

- The ability to mentor, guide and develop other professionals.

- Experience monitoring service performance, contractual requirements or quality standards.

- Strong IT skills and confidence using digital systems, spreadsheets and reporting tools to track data, monitor KPIs and prepare reports.

- Strong organisational, analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

What makes HWR different?

We have deliberately built a different kind of workplace rehabilitation practice.

- Quality over quantity: No rigid billable targets.

- Meaningful work: A diverse range of cases, including complex presentations and early intervention.

- Professional autonomy: We trust our people to exercise judgement and take ownership of their work.

- A genuine leadership opportunity: The chance to lead and influence a growing team and shape how our services are delivered.

- A supportive environment: A collaborative workplace that values mentoring, knowledge-sharing and professional development.

This role may suit an experienced consultant ready to step up, someone who has led informally, or an established professional looking to contribute in a smaller, more connected organisation.
