About the job

A substantial leadership opportunity has become available for an experienced Service Manager to lead service operations in Dubbo. Reporting directly to the Branch Manager, this position oversees a comprehensive department comprising a team of around 35 staff, including Foremen, Qualified Technicians, Apprentices, and operational support personnel.

The core focus of this role is high-level leadership, delegating through your frontline Foremen rather than micro-managing daily workshop tasks. You will champion workflow efficiency, customer satisfaction, technician mentoring, and apprentice development while maintaining disciplined commercial management across the service department.

Key responsibilities include:

- Directing workshop operations, scheduling, and workflow across the service department
- Leading, mentoring, and holding Foremen accountable to ensure productivity, labour targets, and safety standards are achieved
- Mentoring and supporting the professional development of a large technician and apprentice workforce
- Managing department budgets, labour sales, work-in-progress (WIP), and customer satisfaction targets
- Driving continuous improvement in workshop processes, warranty claims, and job quality control

Ideal candidates will hold relevant trade qualifications (Heavy Commercial Vehicle,



Agricultural Mechanical, or Mobile Plant) alongside proven leadership experience as a Service Manager or senior Workshop Supervisor ready for the next step. Technical credibility, commercial acumen, and strong delegation skills are essential.

Previous exposure to the agricultural machinery or heavy vehicle sectors in a retail or wholesale environment would be advantageous for this position. Candidates who have experience with brands such as Case IH, New Holland, John Deere, Claas, Kubota, JCB Agriculture, Massey Ferguson, Fendt, Valtra or similar are strongly encouraged to apply.

Remuneration: A base salary of $130,000 to $150,000 plus superannuation, an annual bonus, fully serviced company vehicle, laptop, and mobile phone.
