We are partnering with an established and growing South Australian civil construction business based in Adelaide’s western suburbs. Our client delivers road, earthworks and infrastructure projects and is looking for experienced operators who can take charge of a crew and keep a project moving. You will be provided a vehicle as you will regularly travel to project sites both north and south of Adelaide.
You will be hands-on operating plant, directing labourers and organising the day’s work. You know when to stay in the cab and when to jump in alongside the team. You take responsibility for the job and the standard of work delivered.
What you will do
· Run a small civil crew and the day-to-day delivery of its project.
· Operate plant confidently and safely while keeping the crew productive.
· Always completing pre-starts properly and making sure your crew does the same.
· Set explicit priorities, coordinate the work and deal with issues as they arise.
· Read plans and levels, check the work and keep safety and quality front of mind.
What you bring
· Proven civil plant operating ability and foreman or hands-on crew-leading experience.
· The judgement to plan ahead, give clear direction and follow through.
· A practical approach and willingness to help on the ground when the job needs it.
· A current White Card and relevant plant tickets or competencies.
· Reliability, being punctual and taking pride in your work.
· Team player attitude with excellent planning and communication skills
· SA Water experience and an unrestricted HR license are preferred, not essential.
· Outstanding operators with the right leadership experience are encouraged to apply.
