Junior .NET Developer – C# / Desktop Applications

An excellent opportunity for an early-career .NET Developer to join an established Brisbane software company, working on commercial applications used by businesses across Australia.

The Opportunity

We're partnering with an established Brisbane-based software company looking for a Junior .NET Developer to join its development team.

You'll be working on a suite of commercial software applications, contributing to new functionality, maintaining existing systems and troubleshooting technical issues.

This position is ideally suited to a developer with 1–2 years of commercial C#/.NET development experience who wants to further develop their skills in a supportive, hands-on software engineering environment.

You'll work alongside experienced developers, gaining exposure to desktop application development, databases, backend services and the full software development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop, enhance and maintain commercial applications using C# and .NET.
- Investigate, troubleshoot and resolve software defects within existing codebases.
- Work with desktop application technologies including WPF and WinForms.
- Develop and maintain database functionality using SQL Server and Entity Framework.
- Write clean, modular, reusable and maintainable code.
- Contribute to application enhancements, testing and ongoing improvements.
- Collaborate with experienced developers to deliver reliable software solutions.

Skills & Experience

Essential Requirements

- Minimum 12 months' commercial C#/.NET software development experience.
- Solid understanding of C#, .NET and object-oriented programming.




- Experience working with SQL and relational databases.
- Demonstrated experience debugging, troubleshooting and modifying existing applications.
- Ability to understand and work within established codebases.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication skills and a willingness to learn.

Highly Regarded

- WPF, WinForms or .NET MAUI development.
- SQL Server and Entity Framework.
- .NET Framework 4.8 and contemporary .NET versions.
- VB.NET and legacy application maintenance.
- ASP.NET Web APIs.
- Visual Studio, Git and CI/CD tools.
- Experience developing or supporting commercial desktop software products.

Please note: A minimum of 12 months' commercial C#/.NET development experience is mandatory. University assignments, personal projects or academic experience alone will not satisfy this requirement.
