Senior Project Engineer – Water Infrastructure

Verra are partnering with an established contractor who are delivering a sizeable water project in the Northern Rivers.

It’s a fairly substantial and technically interesting job with a positive mix of civil, structural, mechanical and electrical scope, being delivered within an existing operational treatment facility.

The Role

You’ll work closely with the Project Manager and site team and take a fairly hands-on role across the day-to-day delivery of the job.

There’s plenty happening across the project, so you’ll have exposure across subcontractor management, procurement, programme, commercial items, quality and coordination with the client and wider project team.

Typical responsibilities will include:

- Taking ownership of major work packages through delivery
- Managing subcontractors and suppliers
- Procurement and coordination of upcoming works
- Working closely with Supervisors and Engineers across site delivery
- Managing QA, ITPs, RFIs and project documentation
- Tracking progress against programme and identifying issues early
- Assisting with variations, EOTs, progress claims and broader commercial items
- Coordinating civil, structural, mechanical and electrical interfaces
- Liaising directly with the client, consultants and other project stakeholders




- Providing guidance and support to Project and Site Engineers within the team

What We’re Looking For

Ideally, you’ll already be operating at Senior Project Engineer level, or be a strong Project Engineer who is ready to take that next step.

A background across water / wastewater infrastructure would obviously be highly regarded, although we’re also interested in speaking with engineers coming from other technically complex civil infrastructure projects.

More importantly, we’re looking for someone who is comfortable being close to site, can work well with Supervisors, PMs and subcontractors, and can take ownership of packages without needing everything handed to them.
