Our Tier 1 Mining Client is looking for an experienced Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join a resources organisation.
Roster: 5/2 Perth based Start date: January **** Duration: approx.
6 months - depending on client requirements Pay Rate: $****** - $****** p/h + Super depending on experience Please note that only people with relevant experience will be considered and contacted.
The Role: This role will play an important part in delivering geotechnical designs, assessments and technical studies, with a focus on open pit slopes, waste rock dumps and long-term mine planning.
Working alongside experienced technical professionals and operational teams, you will provide specialist geotechnical input to support safe, practical and effective mining designs.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to: Deliver geotechnical designs and assessments for open pit slopes and waste rock dumps.
Undertake slope stability assessments, numerical modelling and sensitivity analysis.
Review long-term mine plans and provide geotechnical input into mining studies.
Coordinate and interpret geotechnical investigations, including drilling, geological mapping and laboratory testing.
Integrate geological, structural and hydrogeological information into geotechnical designs.
Identify design risks, uncertainties and appropriate controls and monitoring requirements.
Provide technical advice and support to operational teams during implementation of geotechnical designs.
Review technical reports, design documentation and consultant deliverables.
Support and mentor developing geotechnical engineers.
Required Experience:



A tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Engineering Geology or an equivalent discipline.
Demonstrated experience in open pit geotechnical engineering.
Strong knowledge of slope design, stability assessments and operational mining requirements.
Experience with waste rock dump assessments and mine planning reviews.
Understanding of rock mass characterisation, geotechnical domains and design parameters.
Knowledge of groundwater impacts, slope monitoring systems, trigger levels and TARPs.
Experience using geotechnical modelling software such as Rocscience or equivalent.
Strong technical reporting, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
The ability to coordinate technical inputs, manage priorities and provide guidance to other engineers.
