Byron Private Treatment Centre – Myocum NSW
Byron Private, part of the South Pacific Health network, is a residential treatment centre on the Northern Rivers coast. We support people on their recovery journey from addiction, trauma and mental health challenges, using a therapeutic community model that puts connection, routine and community at the centre of healing.
We are looking for warm, steady and genuine people to join our casual Carer team. You will be the calm, supportive presence that helps our residents feel safe, seen and supported, from the first meeting of the evening to the sunrise beach run.
What you'll be doing
Supporting residents through their daily routines, tasks and activities
Escorting residents to 12 step meetings and on outings
Helping residents settle into a healthy sleep and wake rhythm
Supporting residents with medication and keeping accurate records
Keeping the house clean, calm and welcoming
Writing clear handover and resident notes
Joining team meetings and monthly supervision
What we're looking for
Warmth, reliability and a genuine interest in people and mental health and wellbeing
A steady temperament when things get hard
The ability to hold a kind, explicit boundary
Curiosity about 12 step programs and therapeutic communities, or experience with them
A current First Aid certificate, or willingness to obtain one
Enrolled Nurses with an interest in mental health and addiction are warmly encouraged to apply. It is a great way to build real experience in the AOD and mental health space.
Why Byron Private?
Meaningful work with visible impact
A genuine entry point into the mental health and addiction sector
A close, supportive team
A beautiful part of the world to come to work in
Casual flexibility and variety in your week
Part of the wider South Pacific Health network
Byron Private respects and honours Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Elders past, present and emerging. We acknowledge the stories, traditions and living cultures of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples on this land and commit to building a brighter future together.
