Infrastructure Advisory Group DNS – Canberra ACT
Canberra, ACT Based | Requires a current AGSVA NV1 Clearance | Until 30 June **** (Possible Extension)
About Us
IAG Defence & National Security (DNS) is part of IAG, a specialist advisory firm supporting complex infrastructure, Defence and national security programs across Australia. Our DNS team works closely with Commonwealth agencies and industry partners to deliver specialist expertise into nationally significant programs. Our success depends on our ability to identify, engage and mobilise highly specialised talent quickly and effectively. IAG is recognised as a Veteran Friendly Employer under the Veteran Employment Program. Do you have prior ADF experience? We highly value ADF experience and skills, whether as a permanent member or a reservist.
The Role
We're looking for an experienced Systems Engineer with an aerospace background to develop the software specifications for a major Defence aerospace capability acquisition, working under limited supervision. You'll research the standards that apply to each part of the project, and prepare the functional and performance specifications for software, standards and maintenance. The role is a key link in delivering the capability: you'll draft the documents that go to market, take part in commercial activities and tender evaluation, and represent the project at forums with operators and delivery agents. The role is based onsite, Monday to Friday.
Key Responsibilities
Develop high-quality, traceable software functional and performance specifications for the capability's systems, training solutions and interfaces
Research the standards relevant to the project and complete specifications for software, standards and maintenance
Draft ASDEFCON Data Item Descriptions
Populate and maintain a systems engineering database
Evaluate and report on tenders, and conduct vendor requirements reviews
Take part in commercial activities

Represent the project at forums with operators, delivery agents and other stakeholders, and present verbal and written reports to committees and boards
Apply strategic guidance and manage capability risks and complex issues to achieve outcomes
