We are seeking a Laboratory Assistant to join our dedicated laboratory team within Clayton, Victoria.
In this role, the successful applicant will be responsible for processing microbiology specimens, maintenance of instrumentation and equipment and compliance with accreditation and quality assurance requirements.The position will be:Full TimeNight shiftSpecific duties include:Ensure that all company WH&S; requirements are observedInvolved with the processing of specimens within the Microbiology LaboratoryMaintain a high quality, team focused, accurate and efficient work environmentThe ability to prioritise specimens through interpretation of referrals and clinical notesThe ability to determine the correct sample requirements for the tests requestedExcellent communication skills in dealing with internal and external clientsMaintain and initiate excellent customer service skills at all timesDisplay a courteous and responsive phone mannerSkills and experience:Certificate IV in Laboratory Techniques, or be studying for this as minimumPrevious experience of working in a clinical diagnostic microbiology laboratory highly desirableHigh attention to detail and experience working in a fast paced environmentAn enthusiastic and flexible approach to workAbility to multitask and successfully work as part of a team and independentlyExceptional time management skills and the ability to meet deadlinesThe ability to contribute towards the delivery of customer focused servicesAvailable to work night shift,
