Location: South Yarra, onsitePart-time: 4 set days per weekReporting to: Experience Team LeadWe're looking for a Technology Specialist to take ownership of the technology, systems and technical problem-solving that keeps ANGRYchair running. This is not a traditional IT support role. We're looking for someone who is naturally good with technology, loves solving problems, can work things out quickly, and is comfortable taking responsibility for things they may not have seen before. You do not need to know everything already. You do need to be the kind of person who can look at a problem, investigate it, use ChatGPT or Claude, Google it, read documentation, test a few things, call one of our external specialists if needed, and keep going until the problem is resolved. One day you might be troubleshooting why an editor's Mac is running slowly. The next you might be researching replacement computers, improving the way our website gets updated, reviewing how we use AI safely, working through a HubSpot problem, checking our password and access setup, improving our LTO archive process, or coordinating with our external IT provider. The big goal is simple: make sure our team can work effectively and technical problems don't need to become the Founder's problems. You'll sit within our Experience Team, reporting to our Experience Team Lead, and work closely with our Data & Automation Engineer, who focuses more deeply on coding, integrations and automation.Location: South Yarra, onsitePart-time: 4 set days per weekReporting to: Experience Team LeadWe're looking for a Technology Specialist to take ownership of the technology, systems and technical problem-solving that keeps ANGRYchair running. You'll sit within our Experience Team, reporting to our Experience Team Lead, and work closely with our Data & Automation Engineer, who focuses more deeply on coding, integrations and automation. What you'll ownTechnology and problem-solvingYou'll become the first person the team turns to when something technological isn't working properly. That might include:Troubleshooting Macs, monitors, printers, peripherals and everyday software issuesInvestigating hardware or performance problems affecting our editors and creative teamResearching new computers, equipment and softwareHelping determine when technology should be repaired, upgraded, replaced or retiredCoordinating with external IT providers such as CompNow and other technical specialistsIdentifying recurring problems and finding ways to stop them happening againYou won't need to personally solve every technical issue.

so key knowledge does not depend on one personOur use of AI and emerging technology becomes safer and more usefulYou regularly identify improvements we hadn't thought to ask forYou'll probably be outstanding at this if you...Are naturally curious about technology and how things workLove solving problemsAre comfortable saying "I don't know yet, but I'll work it out"Can independently research and investigate unfamiliar problemsUse AI tools intelligently as part of your problem-solving processHave broad technical knowledge rather than only one narrow specialisationAre confident working in a Mac environmentUnderstand basic IT concepts without needing to be a hardcore IT engineerCan explain technical things in plain EnglishAre comfortable dealing with suppliers and external specialistsCan make recommendations rather than simply presenting informationAre organised and follow problems through until they are actually resolvedNotice inefficient processes and instinctively want to improve themDocument things properly instead of keeping knowledge in your headEnjoy helping people and making their work easierAre comfortable balancing lots of different small and large problemsKnow when to keep investigating and when to bring in an expertExperience that would be usefulYou don't need experience in every one of these areas, but some exposure to the following would be valuable:Mac hardware and macOSBusiness IT supportSaaS platformsGoogle WorkspaceCRM systems such as HubSpotWordPress or website administrationCybersecurity fundamentalsPassword managers and identity managementDevice managementNetworking fundamentalsBackup systemsStorage and file managementAI toolsProcess mappingDocumentation and knowledge basesHardware procurementWorking with external IT providersHubSpot and Project Management experience would be a huge plus, however not essential.Experience in a creative, media or video production environment would be useful, but it is not essential. What this role is notThis is not a helpdesk role where you wait for tickets. It is not a hardcore engineering or coding role.It is not a video production technical role focused on cameras, lighting or production equipment. It is not a senior executive technology role.It is a hands-on role for someone who can understand technology, take ownership, solve problems and continuously improve how a small business works.ANGRYchair's Core ValuesSmart, not HardRazzle DazzleWe're Not Saving Lives HereBloody ExcellentImprove ContinuouslyFocus on PeopleIf you're the kind of person who likes being handed a messy problem, working out what's actually going on, fixing it properly and then making sure everyone knows how it works next time, we'll probably get along very well.Application procedure:Call*************) to find out more and express your interest in this job.
