We're looking for a Senior Front-End Developer who is passionate about creating high-quality, user-centric web experiences and enjoys working with modern technologies to deliver meaningful outcomes.The OpportunityAs a Senior Front-End Developer based in our Melbourne CBD office, you'll play a key role in designing, developing and enhancing customer-facing web solutions across VicRoads' digital portfolio.
Working within a hybrid Agile delivery framework, you'll help build responsive, accessible and high-performing applications that deliver seamless experiences for Victorian customers.You'll work closely with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements and design concepts into scalable, production-ready solutions while mentoring developers,



championing front-end best practices and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
What You'll DoDesign, develop and maintain modern web applications and digital servicesBuild responsive, component-based user interfaces using React and modern JavaScript frameworksTranslate design specifications into functional user experiences, ensuring cross-browser compatibility and optimal performanceOptimise front-end performance through techniques such as lazy loading, code splitting and application optimisationImplement accessibility standards (WCAG) and front-end security best practices across digital solutionsCollaborate with Product Managers, UX Designers, Architects and Engineers to deliver high-quality outcomesGuide and mentor developers while promoting engineering standards, code quality and continuous improvementContribute to API-driven solutions using technologies such as REST, GraphQL and WebSockets What You'll Bring4+ years of strong commercial experience developing contemporary front-end applicationsExpertise in React and experience with frameworks such as Angular, Vue.js or SvelteExperience building responsive, scalable and mobile-first applicationsStrong understanding of JavaScript, front-end architecture and modern software engineering practicesExperience developing testable, maintainable and reusable codeExperience working with CI/CD pipelines and web application deployment processesKnowledge of API technologies including REST,
