The practice has a large clinical and administrative team and several income streams, including patient fees, service-fee arrangements with non-owner doctors, Surecell regenerative medicine and medical supplies, government incentive payments, and rental income.About the RoleRecreation Medical Centre is recruiting a full time Accountant to take responsibility for the practice's professional accounting function.
This is not a bookkeeping, accounts payable, payroll or accounts clerk role.
Transaction processing is already handled separately.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare monthly and annual financial statements, including profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow, for management and external reportingAnalyse financial performance, cost variances and revenue across the medical practice and related activities,



and provide recommendations to the Practice PrincipalPrepare and monitor budgets and cash-flow forecastsMaintain and improve accounting systems and internal controlsPrepare working papers and support BAS, tax and other statutory lodgementsProvide financial advice on operational matters relevant to a multi-doctor medical practiceOversee month-end and year-end processes and complex reconciliationsSupport external accountants with accurate schedules and explanationsUse Xero or MYOB at a skilled levelAbout youA bachelor degree in accounting, commerce or a related fieldAt least two years' experience in a professional accounting roleProgress towards, or membership of, CPA Australia, CA ANZ or IPA is highly regardedExperience preparing financial statements and management reports, not only data entry or accounts processingAbility to explain financial results to non-financial managersBe careful - Don't provide your bank or credit card details when applying for jobs.
