Senior Payroll Officer | 6 week Contract | Central CoastAn established Australian organisation within the infrastructure and construction sector is seeking an experienced Senior Payroll Officer to provide interim support for a 6 week annual leave cover.Based at the organisation's Somersby head office, this is a hands-on, standalone payroll position responsible for approximately 120 employees across weekly payrolls.This role would suit an experienced Senior Payroll Officer who enjoys taking ownership of their payroll, investigating discrepancies and working through exceptions rather than simply processing what's put in front of them.The RoleYou will take responsibility for the day-to-day payroll function, including:End-to-end weekly and fortnightly payroll processingProcessing payroll for approximately 120 employeesReviewing electronic timesheets and payroll exceptionsWorking across multiple EBAs and AwardsInterpreting and applying payroll legislation and employee entitlementsNew starters, terminations and redundancy calculationsPAYG, superannuation,



leave and leave loadingPayroll reconciliations and job costingPayroll tax and statutory reportingResponding to payroll queries from employees and managersIdentifying discrepancies and investigating unusual payroll dataPayroll reporting and Excel-based analysisProviding additional finance support where requiredAbout YouWe are looking for someone who brings:Strong end-to-end Australian payroll experienceStrong Excel skillsExperience working with Awards and/or Enterprise AgreementsSound understanding of Australian payroll legislationStrong reconciliation and reporting capabilityAn enquiring and investigative approach to payrollConfidence questioning information and following up discrepanciesHigh attention to detail and accuracyThe ability to work autonomously and take ownership of a payroll functionExperience within construction, manufacturing, infrastructure or another award/EBA-driven workplace would be advantageous, although not essential.What's On Offer?
