About the Role

As an experienced veterinary nurse at McLaren Vale Veterinary Surgery, you'll be an important part of our clinical team, working closely with our veterinarians and fellow nurses to provide exceptional patient care.

One of the things that makes this position particularly rewarding is the variety of nursing opportunities available.

You'll be involved in all aspects of general practice nursing, including:

- Caring for hospitalised patients, including monitoring, administering treatments and providing compassionate nursing care





- Surgical nursing and anaesthetic monitoring for routine procedures, including desexing

- Dental procedures, including dental radiography, scaling and polishing

- Assisting with diagnostic imaging, including radiography and ultrasonography

- Collecting and processing laboratory samples using our comprehensive in-house diagnostic equipment

- Nurse consultations, patient assessments and client education

- Supporting our veterinarians with medical and emergency cases

For nurses who enjoy surgery or would like to further develop their skills, we also offer opportunities to assist with more advanced procedures, including:

- Caesarean sections and reproductive procedures

- Orthopaedic surgery, including fracture repairs, TPLOs and medial patellar luxation (MPL) surgery

- Brachycephalic obstructive airway syndrome (BOAS) surgery

- Complex soft tissue surgeries, including exploratory laparotomies, splenectomies and other advanced procedures

- Advanced anaesthetic monitoring and perioperative patient care

We believe veterinary nurses should have the prospect to use their skills, develop their confidence and be actively involved in patient care.

You don't need to have experience in every procedure we perform. If you have a positive attitude, a solid foundation in veterinary nursing and a desire to learn, our experienced team will be there to support you.

About You

We're looking for an experienced veterinary nurse who is passionate about their profession, enjoys working collaboratively and shares our commitment to providing excellent patient care.

Ideally, you will have:

- Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing or an equivalent qualification

- Experience working in a small animal veterinary practice

- Sound knowledge of anaesthesia, surgical nursing and hospital patient care

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail

- A compassionate and patient-focused approach to veterinary nursing

- A positive attitude and willingness to support your colleagues





- Confidence using initiative while recognising the importance of teamwork

- A genuine interest in continuing to learn and develop professionally

Experience with ezyVet would be advantageous but is not essential.
