Our client is a long-established, Australian-owned fresh protein manufacturer. Its products are sold across Coles, Woolworths, Aldi and the independent channel. The business is entering a busy period with a major retailer, and the Category and Insights team needs a capable analyst who can hit the ground running.
THE ROLE
Reporting to the Category and Insights leader, you'll turn market, retail and economic data into insights that shape decisions for the internal sales team and for retail customers. Your work will include:
- Weekly catalogue and price tracking across the major retailers
- Monitoring economic and industry data, and what it means for protein demand
- Analysis for customer range reviews: category, segment and product performance
- Researching consumer trends and backing them with credible data
- Building clean, retailer-ready PowerPoint packs
- Working with Sales and Marketing
This is mostly an analysis role, not report pulling.
You'll own your work from raw data through to finished insight.
ABOUT YOU
- Robust Excel skills: pivot tables, SUMIFS, XLOOKUP, AVERAGEIFS, and you can extract and clean raw data quickly
- You build your own analysis rather than relying on pre-built reports
- You use AI as a tool, not a crutch, and you sense-check everything
- Sharp attention to detail; your work goes in front of major retailers
- Comfortable working independently with light-touch coaching
- FMCG experience strongly preferred.
- Exposure to Circana, Nielsen or Quantium, or to fresh or protein categories, is a bonus.
THE DETAILS
- Melbourne inner-east office, predominantly on site
- Comfortable visiting food processing operations
- Available immediately or at short notice
