We are seeking a creative, proactive, and marketing-minded Social Media Manager / Virtual Assistant to manage and support the day-to-day marketing activities of a Skin & Beauty salon in Australia.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing a tailored social media strategy, planning and creating engaging content, and managing the salon's online presence across its primary platforms. The focus is to create authentic, brand-aligned content that supports the business's overall marketing objectives, rather than simply posting generic content for the sake of consistency.

The successful candidate should be able to work independently, understand the business and its target audience, and take ownership of content planning and execution with minimal supervision.

Scope of Work

- Develop and manage a monthly social media content calendar aligned with the salon's brand identity, services, promotions, and overall marketing goals.

- Plan approximately five social media posts or content pieces per week.

- Identify relevant content opportunities, trends, and marketing strategies that can help increase brand awareness, engagement, and customer enquiries.

- Ensure content highlights the salon's primary focus on skin treatments while maintaining visibility for its other beauty and salon services.

- Plan content around business activities, promotions, special occasions, and relevant events.

Content Creation & Management

- Create engaging and visually appealing social media content, including graphics, reels, short-form videos, stories, and captions.

- Produce original, brand-specific content that reflects the salon's identity, tone, and target audience.

- Edit and repurpose content for multiple platforms.

- Schedule and publish content across Facebook and Instagram.

- Explore opportunities to reactivate and maintain the salon's TikTok account where practical and aligned with the marketing strategy.





- Monitor content performance and recommend improvements based on engagement and audience response.

General Marketing Support

- Provide ongoing support for the salon's day-to-day marketing activities, with social media as the primary responsibility.

- Assist with basic website updates and marketing-related tasks through Squarespace.

- Explore opportunities to connect social media activities with the salon's website and online booking system.

- Learn and utilize the salon's booking system and its Meta integration to support marketing activities.

- Proactively recommend ideas and improvements to strengthen the salon's overall online presence.

Communication & Administration

- Maintain regular communication with the client and provide updates on completed tasks and upcoming content.

- Seek the client's input or approval when necessary while independently managing routine responsibilities.

- Maintain organized content calendars, task lists, and deadlines.

- Handle all business information and client data with strict confidentiality.

Qualifications & Requirements

- Previous experience in social media management, digital marketing, or a similar role.

- Background or experience in the beauty, skin care, salon, wellness, or related industries is highly preferred.

- Strong understanding of social media marketing strategies, particularly for Facebook and Instagram.

- Excellent graphic design and content creation skills.

- Experience creating and editing short-form videos and reels.

- Good understanding of branding, audience engagement, and content marketing.

- Excellent written communication and copywriting skills.

- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain brand consistency.

- Highly organized, proactive, and able to manage priorities and deadlines independently.

- Resourceful, creative, and comfortable taking initiative and recommending current ideas.
