An established construction and manufacturing operation based in Melbourne's south-eastern suburbs is seeking a skilled and reliable Welder (First Class) to undertake specialised welding activities associated with structural steel fabrication and prefabricated and modular building construction.

The business undertakes in-house steel fabrication as part of its broader manufacturing and construction operations. Its fabrication activities involve structural steel frames, fabricated steel assemblies, custom staircases, access walkways, supports, brackets and other metal components used in modular buildings and related construction projects.

The successful applicant will work in a workshop-based manufacturing environment, carrying out welding and associated preparation, fit-up, inspection and finishing activities in accordance with approved fabrication drawings, technical specifications and applicable workplace safety requirements.

This is a hands‑on trade position requiring competent welding skills, accurate workmanship and the ability to contribute to the consistent production of fabricated steel components.

The position is full-time and ongoing, with the primary workplace located in Seaford, South-East Melbourne, Victoria. Attendance at project or installation sites elsewhere in Victoria may occasionally be required where relevant to the welding duties and operational requirements of the position.

Ordinary Working Hours: 38 hours per week

Annual Base Salary: AUD $98,000, excluding superannuation

12% employer contribution in accordance with applicable legislation

Primary Location: Seaford, South-East Melbourne, Victoria

Employment Entitlements: Annual leave, personal/carer's leave, public holidays and other applicable entitlements in accordance with the National Employment Standards, relevant industrial instruments and Australian workplace legislation.

Any applicable overtime, penalty rates, allowances and additional entitlements will be administered in accordance with the relevant industrial instrument and employment agreement.

The successful applicant will work within an established steel fabrication and modular construction environment, undertaking varied welding activities associated with the manufacture of structural and custom steel components.
