About our Opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Warehouse, Stores, or Inwards Goods professional who is ready to take the next step into leadership at our Pooraka manufacturing facility.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, you'll play a key role in coordinating our Goods Inwards and Stores function, ensuring materials are received, stored, and supplied to production safely and efficiently. You'll work closely with a small team of three and be given the opportunity to develop your leadership skills while contributing to the success of a busy manufacturing operation.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys mentoring others, takes ownership of their work, and is looking to grow into a supervisory position within a supportive and development-focused environment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Coordinate the day-to-day inwards goods and stores activities, including glass, aluminum, hardware, consumables, and manufacturing materials.
- Safely unload deliveries using forklifts and overhead cranes (training can be provided).
- Ensure incoming goods are accurately receipted, labelled, stored, and recorded in inventory systems.
- Support inventory accuracy through cycle counts, stocktakes, and stock control activities.
- Replenish materials to warehouse and production areas to support manufacturing requirements.
- Assist with waste and recycling activities, including organising collections and disposal processes.
- Work closely with Production, Purchasing, Planning, and Operations teams to ensure material availability.
- Lead by example when it comes to safety, housekeeping, and operational standards.
- Provide day-to-day guidance and support to team members while developing your people leadership capability.
About You
You may already have some informal leadership experience, such as training recent team members, coordinating workloads, or acting as a go-to person within your team, and you're now looking for the opportunity to take the next step.
To be successful, you'll bring:
- Experience in warehousing, stores, logistics, manufacturing, or a similar environment.
- A current LF Forklift Licence and practical operating experience.
- A strong commitment to workplace safety and safe work practices.
- Experience with inventory management, stock control, cycle counts, or stocktakes.
- Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office and inventory or ERP systems.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
- The confidence to take initiative, make decisions, and support others.
- A positive attitude and genuine interest in developing leadership and people management skills.
- Experience handling large or fragile materials, such as glass, will be highly regarded.
- Overhead crane experience is advantageous; however training is available.
What's on Offer
- Full-time permanent opportunity.
- Monday to Friday roster, 6:00am to 2:30pm.
- Support and mentoring to help you develop into a supervisory role.
- Opportunity to build your leadership skills within a growing manufacturing business.
- Stable role within a well-established Australian organisation.
