Clayton South Primary School has been providing excellent education for our community since 1929. Situated on 3 acres, our school provides a wonderful atmosphere and space for our students to develop their academic and creative talents. We are an inclusive school with approximately 100 students from diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds, including international enrolments.

Our school utilises an explicit, direct instruction approach. Explicit resources such as Little Learners Love Literacy, Ochre and the Orton Gillingham Approach are used to compliment high quality teaching practices. Core lessons are delivered utilising a direct instruction approach, complimented by differentiated activities for students to independently practice their skills.

Teachers work in junior and senior school teams to collaboratively plan, for collegial support and to develop the slides utilised in literacy and numeracy sessions. To further achieve Literacy and Numeracy goals for our students, teachers at CSPS are committed to meet on a weekly basis as a Professional Learning Community (PLC), to assess and analyse student performance data, create and implement IEP¿s and to plan for preciseand personalised teaching in the classroom, with a subsequent weekly professional learning meeting.
