Construction Leading Hand Plumber Wanted

Good leading hands don’t need micromanaging. They need the trust and support to get the job done.

Every plumbing job ad seems to promise the world.

“Great culture.”

“Endless opportunities.”

“Work-life balance.”

“Best team ever.”

Then you start and realise the plans aren't organised, materials haven't arrived, communication is non-existent, and somehow you're expected to run the entire job without any support.

That's not what we're offering.

At Jeremy's Plumbing, we're looking for an experienced Construction Leading Hand Plumber who knows their trade, can read and interpret plans, lead a team, and take ownership of projects with confidence.

We're offering stable work, proper support, clear communication, ongoing training, and a team that values quality tradespeople.

If you're someone who can look at a set of plans, understand what's required, organise the work, and get the job done properly without someone looking over your shoulder, you'll fit in well here.

You won't be micromanaged. You won't be left to carry the chaos. You'll be trusted to lead, make decisions, and deliver quality work with the backing of a supportive team.

If you're ready to take the lead on quality construction projects, keep reading.

What's in it for you?

We're not going to promise you a gold-plated ute and six months off a year.

What we can offer is:

- Stable, full-time work with a consistent pipeline of construction projects

- Competitive pay based on experience and leadership capabilities

- Company vehicle, phone or tablet, and uniform supplied

- Opportunities to work on high-end residential and commercial construction projects

- Ongoing training, professional development and upskilling

- Support from management and our office team

- Well-organised job systems, scheduling and project coordination

- The opportunity to lead and mentor apprentices and tradespeople

- A team that respects experience, initiative and quality workmanship

- Room to grow into greater leadership responsibilities

The goal is simple: give experienced plumbers the support, resources and trust to run quality projects without the daily circus.

About the Role

This is a hands-on Construction Leading Hand Plumbing role, working across residential and commercial construction projects throughout Sydney/Illawarra and surrounding areas.

You'll be responsible for overseeing plumbing installations, interpreting construction plans, coordinating materials, managing day-to-day site activities and ensuring works are completed to a high standard.

You'll be expected to confidently work from architectural, hydraulic and construction drawings, identify potential issues before they become problems, and communicate effectively with builders, supervisors, other trades and your own team.

You'll still be on the tools, but you'll also be the person helping keep the job organised, the team productive and the project moving forward.

We're looking for someone who takes ownership, thinks ahead and leads by example.

What You'll Be Doing

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

- Reading, interpreting and working from architectural, hydraulic and construction plans

- Understanding plumbing specifications, layouts, levels and installation requirements

- Setting out plumbing works accurately in accordance with approved plans

- Completing and overseeing drainage, rough-ins, stacks, water services and fit-offs

- Leading and supervising apprentices and other plumbers on site

- Coordinating daily tasks and ensuring work is completed efficiently

- Planning ahead and organising materials, equipment and labour requirements

- Liaising with builders, site supervisors, project managers and other trades

- Identifying discrepancies in plans and resolving potential installation issues

- Ensuring all plumbing installations comply with relevant Australian Standards, NCC requirements and project specifications

- Maintaining high standards of workmanship, site cleanliness and safety

- Monitoring job progress and communicating updates to management

- Completing job notes, site photos and relevant documentation

- Taking responsibility for the quality and productivity of work carried out by your team

You'll be expected to lead from the front, not just delegate from the sidelines.

Who We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who:

- Is a qualified and appropriately licensed plumber with solid construction experience

- Has previous leading hand, supervisory or team leadership experience

- Can confidently read, interpret and work independently from hydraulic and architectural plans

- Has strong experience across residential construction plumbing, including new builds and renovations

- Understands drainage layouts, pipe sizing, gradients,

levels and hydraulic requirements

- Can plan and coordinate plumbing works from rough-in through to final fit-off

- Is confident supervising apprentices and other tradespeople

- Can communicate professionally with builders, supervisors, clients and management

- Has excellent problem-solving skills and can think ahead

- Takes pride in quality workmanship and attention to detail

- Can manage their time, organise materials and keep projects moving

- Holds a current driver's licence

- Is reliable, accountable and comfortable taking responsibility on site

Experience working on high-end residential builds or commercial construction projects will be highly regarded.

Most importantly, we're looking for someone who can read the plans, understand the bigger picture, and turn those drawings into quality plumbing installations.

You don't need to know everything.

But you do need to be confident in your abilities, willing to keep learning, and capable of leading others by example.

Why Join Us?

Because good leading hands shouldn't have to choose between being paid fairly and being treated properly.

At Jeremy's Plumbing, we take pride in delivering quality workmanship across residential and commercial projects.

We're a growing, family-run plumbing business that values reliability, professionalism and doing things properly the first time.

We know construction isn't always straightforward.

Plans change. Builders have deadlines. Other trades get in the way. Materials sometimes don't arrive when expected.

That's construction.

What matters is having a team that communicates, works together and finds solutions rather than pointing fingers.

You'll have the opportunity to work on exciting projects, develop your leadership skills and play an significant role in delivering work we're proud to put our name on.

We're not looking for cowboys, passengers or someone who thinks they're above the team.

We're looking for a solid, experienced Construction Leading Hand who can take charge when needed, support the people around them and get the job done right.

How to Apply

Apply now with your resume.

No long cover letter needed.

Just tell us:

- Your plumbing and construction experience

- Your experience reading plans and leading projects

- The types of construction jobs you've worked on

- When you'd be available to start

If you're an experienced construction plumber who's ready to take the lead, work on quality projects and be part of a team that genuinely backs you, we'd like to hear from you.
