The Yarraville-Footscray Bowling Club is a thriving community venue offering hospitality, gaming, functions, bowls, entertainment and member services. We are seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant Manager to play a key leadership role in our growing operation.

Reporting directly to the General Manager, this hands‑on position will assist in leading daily operations while ensuring exceptional customer experiences, strong team performance and compliance across all areas of the club.

About the Role

As Assistant Manager, you will support the General Manager in the day‑to‑day operation of the club, including:

Leading and supervising venue operations across hospitality, gaming and functions

Managing and developing staff to deliver exceptional service standards

Coordinating staff rosters, labour costs and shift management

Handling customer enquiries, complaints and member engagement

Supporting event and function delivery

Assisting with stock control, ordering and supplier management

Maintaining compliance with liquor, gaming, food safety and workplace regulations

Monitoring venue presentation, cleanliness and operational standards





Assisting with business improvement initiatives and revenue growth strategies

Acting as Duty Manager and taking responsibility for venue operations in the absence of the General Manager

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

Previous hospitality, club, pub or venue management experience

Solid leadership and people management skills

Excellent customer service and communication abilities

Sound understanding of food and beverage operations

Ability to lead from the front in a hands‑on environment

Strong organisational and problem‑solving skills

Availability to work a rotating roster including nights, weekends and public holidays

Required Certifications

Victorian Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA)

Victorian Responsible Conduct of Gambling (RCG)

Current First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain)

Current TAB or TAB Advanced Operators Certificate

Highly Desirable

Experience in club or gaming venue operations

Function and event management experience

Knowledge of roster management and labour cost control

Experience using hospitality POS and venue management systems
