About your branch

SAFA’s Advisory Services division provides a wide range ofadvisory services related to financial and contractual arrangementsbetween government and private entities, including industryassistance.

SAFA functions as the central financing authority, captiveinsurer and manager of the passenger and light commercial fleetoperations for the Government of South Australia.



SAFA plays anintegral role in the overall management of the State Government'sfinances and risks, harnessing economies of scale and relevantexpertise in wholesale financial markets and insurance markets toprovide a range of treasury, insurance and vehicle fleet managementservices to public sector clients, set by its strategicdirection.

What you willdo

The Contract Manager is responsible for negotiating andadministering financial assistance contracts between the Governmentand private sector entities in a prudent, transparent and effectivemanner. This includes:

- Undertaking financial assessments of applicants forgovernment assistance, including analysing financial statementsand assessing financial position.
- Assisting in the drafting and development of contractualdocumentation.
- Monitoring and evaluating the performance of businessesreceiving government support.
- Communicating effectively with stakeholders to progresscontract matters.
- Assessing compliance with contractual obligations,including milestone achievements, payment claims, and seekingapprovals through written communication to management and theTreasurer as required.
- Identifying and managing risks and supporting restructuringof businesses of grantees/borrowers or recovery actions toprotect government interests.

Remuneration: ASO6 ($105,747 – $111,854) + 12%Super

What you bring

We’re looking for someone who has:





- Experience in financial analysis, including analysing andinterpreting financial statements and assessing the financialperformance and position and ongoing viability ofbusinesses.
- Experience in the administration and management ofcommercial contracts, ideally including grant, loan or otherfinancial assistance arrangements.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and inwriting with stakeholders.
- Ability to plan, organise and prioritise tasks andactivities to achieve goals, deadlines and requiredoutputs.
- Strong attention to detail.
