Research & Legislation Assistant (Perfect for Law Student)

We are looking for aUniversity Law Studentto join our team as a Research & Legislation Assistant on a casual basis (2-3 days per week).

Solutions in Engineering provides property compliance and reports to the body corporate and strata industry in Australia and Recent Zealand. We assist strata owners and building managers to fulfil their maintenance obligations, their Work Health & Safety obligations and to maintain the value of their building and ensure the longevity of the strata scheme.

The ideal applicant is a first or second yearlaw studentlooking to gain office/ corporate experience. This student role is flexible around university, however, it is expected that you will be available minimum 2 days per week in our Milton Office.

This role is a fantastic opportunity for a law student to get real world, real corporate experience in a related field rather than shuffling papers in a legal practice.

Roles and Responsibilities:

- Document control and associated administration tasks
- Contract review, drafting and mark-up
- Report amending,



drafting and preparation
- Market analysis and research
- Legislation interpretation and research
- Responding to enquiries based on State and Federal legislation
- Drafting lobby documents
- Assisting in preparation of legal cases
- Conducting research investigations

About You:

- Current 1st or 2nd year law student
- Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office
- High attention to detail
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Ability to work autonomously and in a team
- Ability to multi-task and manage competing demands
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- An enthusiastic and optimistic demeanour
- Legal research knowledge is essential. While knowledge of the property industry is preferred, it is not required. Previous experience in the strata industry is also not required.
- The successful candidate must be a current University Law Student.
- Further training will be provided as necessary.
