As a Program Manager for Applied AI Engineering (AAI Eng) organization, you will be a part of the team that manages the business operations across the entire org, working closely with leadership to help them grow, scale and run the business effectively. Sitting in the Strategy and Operations team, you will run the core operating system of AAI Labs. AAI Labs is an incubator inside AAI Eng, where small pods of entrepreneurial engineers propose, build and potentially ship real products, tools and infrastructure. You will own the end-to-end AAI Labs program lifecycle: from proposal intake and submission evaluation, progress tracking, through to the graduation decision making process. You will bring consistency and speed to a high-volume portfolio, where AAI Labs runs hundreds of projects at once.
Program Manager, Applied AI Engineering Responsibilities:
- Own the proposal process end to end: define acceptance criteria, run the review process, and keep a high-volume pipeline moving with clear, timely decisions.
- Build and run the portfolio tracking system for hundreds of concurrent projects, including milestones, health signals and data-generation targets.
- Design and run regular project evaluations, and drive milestone, pivot, cut and graduation decisions with the AAI Labs leadership team.
- Make decisions consistent across reviewers by creating rubrics, calibration and documented standards.
- Plan and run intake batches: onboarding, launch backlog and cadence.
- Report on portfolio health and outcomes to senior leadership, and turn insights into program improvements.
- Identify bottlenecks in the AAI Labs operating model and fix them through process, tooling and automation.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent
- 8+ years of experience in program management running complex, multi-team programs at leading or startup tech company
- Experience working directly with software engineers and engineering leaders, with enough technical fluency to assess project progress
- Demonstrated ability to drive clear decisions, including difficult cut or deprioritize calls, in ambiguous environments
- Quantitative, analytical, and conceptual problem-solving skills combined with business acumen
- Experience problem-solving individually and in a group setting, with an AI-first mindset
Preferred Qualifications:
- BA/BS degree in business, finance, or engineering
- Experience running an incubator, accelerator, hackathon program or portfolio of early-stage projects
- Experience automating program operations with dashboards, AI tools or workflow tooling
- Experience organizing, developing, and executing strategic projects that deliver results
- Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)
- Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)
- Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies
