Company description

As an organisation we have a clear focus on how we service and partner with our community, including our strategy of helping the community stay well when at home. Our reputation of community minded, inclusive and progressive is matched to none.

Northern Health are seeking applications from motivated and suitably experienced Administration Officer to join the Aged Care Assessment team.

Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services in Melbourne's rapidly growing outer north.

Services are provided through our six main campuses:

Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn and Mernda Community Hospitals Centres and Kilmore District Hospital. In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park, Mernda and Coburg.

About the Role:

The ACA Administration Officer plays a key role in supporting the efficient delivery of Aged Care Assessment services. Often the first point of contact for clients, families, carers and community stakeholders, you will provide a professional, responsive and customer-focused service while supporting the broader ACA team to achieve service requirements and Key Performance Indicators.

This varied role includes completing assessment bookings, responding to enquiries, managing administrative processes and completing end-processing activities associated with My Aged Care assessments. You will work closely with assessment staff and other members of the team to ensure clients receive timely,

accurate and well-coordinated support throughout the assessment process.

To be successful in this role you will have:

- Experience in administration or customer service, ideally within a health, aged care or community services workplace.

- Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise competing demands in a busy service environment.
- Proven ability to provide professional, compassionate and respectful customer service, particularly when communicating with older people, families, carers and healthcare professionals.
- Well-developed verbal and written communication skills and confidence managing telephone and electronic enquiries.
- Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate client information, bookings and administrative records.
- Good computer literacy and the ability to confidently use electronic client-management and administrative systems including My Aged Care portal.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team while also working independently and taking responsibility for allocated tasks.
- An understanding of privacy, confidentiality and appropriate handling of sensitive client information.
- Experience with My Aged Care systems and aged care assessment processes would be highly regarded.
