Shaw Talent has been retained by a global engineering consultancy recognised for technical excellence and long term client partnerships across the built workplace. Their data centre practice is established, growing, and delivering live hyperscale and colocation projects for some of the most active data centre developers and operators across the globe.

The practice has seen a notable uplift in successful project tenders during 2025 and 2026, heading into the new FY with a strong pipeline. Australia’s data centre market is showing no signs of slowing down, and this business is well positioned for growth in the sector. As a result, we are looking for a natural leader to take ownership of their Data Centre business across ANZ, focused on client relationships, P&L;, major projects and team growth.

The Prospect

As ANZ Sector Lead, Data Centres, you will:

- Lead relationships with major data centre clients, developers and operators, deepening existing partnerships and opening new ones
- Provide project leadership across the practice’s most complex hyperscale and colocation work
- Grow the practice’s market share as a central figure in bids, pursuits and client presentations
- Build internal capability across delivery and technical teams, lifting standards, mentoring senior engineers and creating succession depth
- Shape the sector strategy and growth of the ANZ business
- Sit on the national executive committee,



influencing the direction of the wider business

Who You Are

- Currently operating at Director, Technical Director, Associate Director or Principal level within the data centre or mission critical team of an Australian engineering design consultancy
- 12 years’ experience with deep data centre credentials across hyperscale and/or colocation projects
- Established relationships with data centre clients, developers or operators in the Australian market
- A track record of winning work and growing a team, practice or client account in the data centre sector in Australia
- Strong technical grounding in either electrical infrastructure or mechanical and cooling systems
- Committed to mentoring and developing the engineers around you
- Chartered status (CPEng, NER, CEng or equivalent) highly regarded

Package

Up to $400,000 total package, inclusive of shares with flexibility for an exceptional individual.
