Our recently commissioned world-class Aquaculture Net Service Centre in Cairns Bay, has been designed to support the growth of our local aquaculture industry here in Tasmania. Through this recent facility Nets Tasmania provides aquaculture customers with net maintenance, repair, customisations, and other net related services.
Nets Tasmania also provides our customers with direct on water sea pen net repairs through our highly skilled mobile marine operations team.
About the Role
We’re looking for reliable and motivated Net Repairer to join our Team. You’ll be part of a small crew working outdoors helping to maintain and repair aquaculture nets across various sites in Southern Tasmania. If you enjoy hands-on work, learning new skills, and being part of a supportive and agile team that values safety and quality, this could be the opportunity for you.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the maintenance and repair of aquaculture nets
- Identify net damage and carry out repairs using specialised tools and techniques
- Read and follow simple diagrams and work instructions
- Maintain a safe, tidy, and compliant worksite
- Keep accurate records of work completed
- Be willing to travel from time to time
What You’ll Bring
- A current driver’s licence or reliable transport
- Willingness and ability to undertake physical outdoor work
- Ability to work right-handed
- Strong teamwork, reliability, and attention to detail
- Willingness to follow instructions and learn on the job
- Previous experience in aquaculture, marine, or maintenance work is beneficial
