A large ASX-listed organisation is moving its whole enterprise data platform from Azure Synapse to Microsoft Fabric. The data function has grown quickly and is delivering a large portfolio of projects, so they’re looking for a Senior Data Engineer with a solution architecture background to help design and build the move. This is a 6 month contract with strong scope for extension.
Your Responsibilities:
- Design and build data solutions as part of the enterprise migration from Synapse to Microsoft Fabric
- Migrate existing Synapse workloads and pipelines onto Microsoft Fabric
- Build and optimise ETL/ELT pipelines, data ingestion and data models
- Provide solution architecture input on platform design, patterns and standards
- Work in agile project squads alongside BAs,
Power BI developers and other engineers
- Guide and support other engineers, and contribute to engineering best practice
About You:
- Senior data engineering experience in enterprise environments
- Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric and Azure Synapse
- A background in solution architecture or data platform design
- Experience across the Azure data stack, including Data Factory, Data Lake and Power BI
- Robust SQL and Python/PySpark skills; GitHub and CI/CD experience
- Comfortable working in agile delivery teams across multiple projects
