About the role

We are seeking enthusiastic and skilled Bar Staff to join the team at SMITHAM QP PTY LTD in Hemmant, QLD. This is a part-time position offering flexibility and the opportunity to be part of a dynamic hospitality environment.

As Bar

Staff, you will be the face of our establishment, delivering exceptional customer service whilst preparing and serving beverages to our guests. This role is crucial in creating memorable experiences for our customers and maintaining the high standards our venue is known for.

Key responsibilities

- Preparing and serving a variety of beverages, including beers, wines, spirits and non-alcoholic drinks

- Taking customer orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring exceptional service standards are maintained

- Operating the point-of-sale (POS) system and handling cash and card transactions with accuracy

- Maintaining a clean and well-organised bar area, including regular restocking of supplies and glassware

- Checking customer identification to ensure compliance with liquor licensing laws

- Engaging with customers in a friendly and professional manner to create a welcoming atmosphere

- Following health and safety procedures, including proper handling of alcohol and glassware

- Assisting with bar setup and breakdown at the beginning and end of shifts

What we're looking for

- Proven experience working in a bar or hospitality environment, or relevant hospitality training

- Strong knowledge of beer, wine, spirits

- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanor

- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously

- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team





- Basic mathematical skills for handling cash transactions accurately

- Responsibility and reliability, with a commitment to punctuality

- Knowledge of responsible service of alcohol (RSA) practices and liquor licensing requirements

- Current RSA Certificate (or willingness to obtain one)

- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and public holidays as required
- A neat personal appearance and willingness to comply with uniform requirements
