Bendigo
You spend your days lifting others up. Who’s backing you?
Most caregiver job ads read the same: a dry checklist of chores, a generic stock photo, and a line about "needing to love care."
At Nurse Next Door Greater Bendigo, we see things differently.
Caregiving isn’t just transactional support—it’s human connection, advocacy, and quiet craftsmanship. We don’t treat our caregivers as a roster to fill; we treat you as the heart of our mission. If you give your best to your clients, you deserve an employer that invests just as deeply in you.
We are actively reshaping what it feels like to work in home care for our aging community and those living with a disability or those who just need a little extra help. That means creating an inclusive, transparent culture where your voice is heard, your individual personal and professional goals are actively supported, and your wins—big and small—are genuinely celebrated.
About Us: A Culture Built on Purpose & Mutual Respect
Nurse Next Door Greater Bendigo isn't another standard home-care provider. We are driven by a simple, radical philosophy: Happier Ageing®. We help older Australians and those with a disability, stay safely and joyfully in their own homes by discovering what they truly love doing—and making it happen.
We are guided by four core values that shape how we support our clients and how we show up for our team every day:
- Admire People: We treat our team members with the same warmth, dignity, and deep respect that we extend to our clients.
- Find a Better Way: We refuse to settle for "how it's always been done." We empower you to think creatively and solve problems on the ground.
- Passion for Making a Difference: Purpose isn't an afterthought here; it's why we show up.
- Deliver a WOW Customer Experience:
We go above and beyond to create extraordinary, uplifting moments for our clients, their families, and each other.
What We Give Back to You
- True Goal Support: Whether you want to master current clinical competencies, balance your study, or work toward personal milestones, we sit down with you to help make them a reality.
- Celebration & Visibility: We notice the small details, the quiet empathy, and the extra steps you take when no one is watching. We celebrate our people openly and regularly.
- Autonomy with Real Backup: You work independently in the community, backed 24/7 by dedicated Care Designers who listen, communicate transparently, and protect your safety and well-being.
- Flexible Casual Rosters: Meaningful hours that respect your life outside of work, paid under the SCHADS Industry Award.
About the Role: More Than Just a Task List
As a casual Caregiver with our Greater Bendigo team, you report directly to our Care Designer and serve as the face of premium, compassionate care. You will work directly with clients and their families, ensuring consistency, peace of mind, and genuine moments of joy.
What You Will Be Doing:
- Champion Happier Ageing®: Help clients revisit their passions, whether that’s tending the garden, baking an old recipe, or taking a stroll in the local park.
- Activities of Daily Living: Provide respectful, discreet personal care,
assist with healthy meal preparation, light household upkeep, errands, and reliable transport.
- Client Advocacy & Communication: Review care plans and maintain accurate visit records, and collaborate closely with your Care Designer to elevate each client's experience and care.
- Safety & Standards: Uphold infection control practices, safely use client equipment, and adhere to the Aged Care Quality Standards and NDIS protocols.
What We Are Looking For
We hire for heart, attitude, and character first. We want self-led leaders who take pride in their craft and bring warmth wherever they go.
Key Requirements:
- Certificate III in Individual Support, Aged Care, Disability, or Community Care (or equivalent experience).
- Current Checks: Aged care-specific National Police Check, Working with Children Check (WWCC), and eligibility for NDIS/DWES screening.
- Reliable Transport: Valid driver’s license and a roadworthy, insured vehicle to travel independently between visits.
- Flexibility & Reliability: A track record of punctuality and dependability, with availability across varied shifts (mornings, afternoons, evenings, or weekends).
- Communication: Clear, intentional, and compassionate communication skills.
- References: Two positive professional references.
Ready to work somewhere you are celebrated as much as your clients?
If you're tired of feeling like just another number and want to work with a team that values your growth as much as your care, we would love to hear from you.
Apply today with your resume and a short cover letter telling us: What is one personal or professional goal you’re working toward right now and which Nurse Next Door value you align to closest?
