Based in newly refurbished, world-class offices in Applecross, it offers an opportunity to shape the financial foundations of an emerging family office. Bravo Search is managing the appointment of Daybreak’s founding Chief Financial Officer, a trusted adviser who will combine technical financial expertise with practical investment experience and commercial judgement.

role summary

Working directly with founder Luke Mader, you will establish the financial infrastructure, reporting, controls and adviser relationships needed to support Daybreak’s continued development. This permanent appointment combines finance leadership with an active investment focus. You will assess, execute and oversee investment opportunities, support capital-allocation decisions and help shape the family office’s longer-term investment capability. It suits a leader who can move confidently between strategy and detailed execution, introducing discipline without unnecessary bureaucracy.

Key Responsibilities

- Build a coordinated finance function across companies, trusts, investments, property interests and associated structures.
- Establish clear reporting, budgets, forecasts, controls and visibility of assets, liabilities, cash flow and commitments.
- Oversee financial accounting, tax-effect accounting, compliance and the implementation of specialist advice.




- Evaluate investment opportunities through financial modelling, valuation, due diligence and commercial analysis.
- Monitor investment performance, liquidity, concentration and risk, supporting capital allocation and diversification.
- Manage treasury, debt, distributions, funding arrangements and banking relationships.
- Establish proportionate governance, risk management and accountability across internal resources and external providers.
- Manage accountants, tax specialists, lawyers and investment advisers, retaining ownership of scope, cost, quality and outcomes.
- Help develop the future team and operating model while protecting sensitive financial and commercial information.

Required Qualifications

- A relevant tertiary qualification and CA or CPA designation.
- Substantial senior finance leadership experience in a commercially complex setting.
- Strong technical financial-accounting capability, including practical tax-effect accounting experience.
- Experience across companies, trusts, investments and private assets.
- Practical involvement in evaluating, executing, managing or overseeing investments.
- Confidence leading people,



managing advisers and taking ownership of detailed financial work.
- Sound commercial judgement, exceptional discretion, integrity and the ability to provide candid advice.
- Family-office, private-investment or founder-led business experience is highly regarded, as is exposure to international structures and building or improving a finance function.
