Vanilla Pod Pizza & Pasta Bar Albury Vanilla Pod Pizza & Pasta Bar is a family restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, with dine-in, takeaway and online ordering. Its menu includes handcrafted pizzas, fresh pasta, steaks, seafood, burgers, breakfast dishes and desserts. We are seeking an experienced Chef to help plan and organise kitchen operations and prepare high-quality meals for our customers.

Key responsibilities Plan menus and assist with developing recent dishes and improving existing recipes to suit the restaurant’s menu and customer preferences. Estimate food requirements and costs, order ingredients and kitchen supplies, and monitor stock levels to support daily service. Prepare and cook a range of dishes, including pizzas, pasta, steaks, seafood, burgers, breakfast items, sauces and desserts.

Check the quality and freshness of ingredients and monitor food quality, portioning and presentation throughout preparation and service. Coordinate food preparation and service with kitchen and front-of-house staff to ensure orders are completed efficiently. Discuss food preparation requirements and kitchen issues with management and team members.

Demonstrate cooking techniques and provide guidance to kitchen staff on recipes, preparation methods and presentation. Apply and enforce food safety, hygiene,



sanitation and workplace health and safety requirements. Assist with selecting and training kitchen staff where required.

Store, preserve and rotate food appropriately to maintain quality and minimise waste.

Skills and experience Relevant commercial cookery qualifications, such as a Diploma or equivalent, or at least three years of relevant experience. Demonstrated experience as a Chef in a restaurant or comparable commercial kitchen. Ability to prepare a varied menu, including pasta, pizza and other restaurant-style dishes.

Sound knowledge of food safety, hygiene and safe kitchen practices. Ability to manage food preparation, maintain consistent quality and work effectively during busy service periods. Strong communication, organisation and teamwork skills.
