About The Company

Our client is a widely recognised Australian professional services organisation with a genuine purpose. Backed by a private equity investor, the business has delivered consecutive years of profit growth and is now entering the most significant growth phase in its history.

About The Role

Reporting to the CEO and sitting on the Executive Leadership Team, the CFO will lead Finance, Audit and Risk, overseeing a medium to large, capable finance team. Partnering closely with the CEO, ELT, Board and private equity owners, the role will drive sustainable growth and sale readiness.

Perks

This is a rare opportunity to join a purpose led business at a pivotal point in its journey. The role includes participation in an expanding Management Equity Plan that offers real alignment with the value created, and can be based in either Melbourne or Sydney.

Duties / Key Responsibilities

- Act as a strategic partner to the CEO, ELT and Board, driving sustainable growth in revenue, margin and cash generation.

- Build and own the financial model behind the strategic plan and sale readiness, surfacing growth opportunities and commercial insights.

- Shape and deliver the financial narrative to the Board, shareholders and external stakeholders, including preparation for a future sale process.

- Lead planning, budgeting and forecasting that give the Board early visibility of risks, with no surprises.

- Lead a finance function spanning treasury, procurement, compliance and internal controls, with oversight of risk management and internal audit, while maintaining cost discipline and pricing governance.

Skills And Experience

- Experience as a CFO or senior finance executive leading finance through growth and transformation.

- Professional services experience highly regarded, as is a background in technology services or aligned sectors.

- Experience partnering with private equity owners preferred, with strong consideration given to deep transformation experience.

- Exposure to an M&A;, transaction or exit process viewed favourably but not essential.

- Proven financial modelling, valuation and scenario analysis capability, including building and defending a value creation model.

- Forward looking, data led analytical skills that identify risks and opportunities early.

- Strong stakeholder leadership, with the ability to influence the Board, private equity owners and executive peers.

- Compelling storytelling and investor communication, including the ability to speak credibly to the value of a technology transformation.

- Adaptability and resilience in a fast moving, evolving environment.
