Family Tree Child Development Centre is seeking a passionate Child Care Food Coordinator to join our team. As Food Coordinator, you will be responsible for planning, preparing and delivering high-quality food experiences that support children's health, wellbeing and learning outcomes. This position is pivotal in ensuring our centre meets all food safety and nutritional standards whilst fostering positive eating habits and food appreciation in young learners.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and prepare nutritious, age-appropriate meals that meet dietary guidelines and cater to individual children's needs, including allergies and intolerances
- Maintain food safety and hygiene standards in compliance with relevant legislation and centre policies
- Manage week food orders
- Keep kitchen facilities, equipment and food storage areas clean, organised and well-maintained
- Stay current with food safety certifications and best practice in child nutrition
What we're looking for
- Current Food Safety Supervisor certification or happy to obtain at the service
- Excellent food hygiene and safe food handling practices,
with demonstrated knowledge of allergen management
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to plan and prepare meals efficiently
- Genuine passion for supporting children's health, wellbeing and positive relationship with food
- Current Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain one)
