About the Role

Reporting to the Production Manager, the CNC Programmer is responsible for generating CNC programs manually and/or using CAD/CAM software (SURFCAM) to support all machining operations across our workshop.

You will work across a diverse range of equipment, including:

- 3-axis double head rail CNC milling machines with controllers including:
- SIEMENS

- FANUC

- FAGOR

- 3-axis vertical CNC milling machines with:

- HEIDENHAIN controllers

This role requires a strong understanding of different control platforms and the ability to optimise machining processes across multiple machine types to ensure efficiency, quality, and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and optimise CNC programs to meet quality and production targets

- Perform 2D drafting and 3D modelling for machining

- Prove and validate programs prior to release

- Maintain CNC program database and documentation

- Identify and implement machining and process improvements

- Design tooling, jigs and fixtures

- Support troubleshooting and fault finding on machinery

- Liaise with Production and Engineering teams

- Operate CNC/manual machines as required

About You

- Proven CNC programming experience in a manufacturing environment

- Strong CAD/CAM skills (SURFCAM preferred)

- Experience across multiple controller types (Fanuc, Siemens, Heidenhain, etc.)

- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings

- Hands-on machining background

- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
