Vanilla Pod Pizza & Pasta Bar Albury We are seeking a skilled Cook to prepare and cook meals consistently for our customers.

Key responsibilities Examine ingredients and food supplies to check freshness, quality and suitability for use. Prepare and cook menu items such as pizzas, pasta, steaks, seafood, burgers, breakfast dishes, salads and desserts. Regulate temperatures and operate ovens, grills and other kitchen equipment safely.

Season food during cooking and prepare sauces, gravies and other accompaniments. Portion and plate meals, adding sauces and garnishes in line with the restaurant’s presentation standards. Prepare food to meet customers’ dietary requirements where requested.

Store ingredients and prepared food in temperature-controlled facilities, following safe food-handling practices. Maintain a clean and organised work area and follow food safety, hygiene and workplace safety requirements. Assist with estimating food requirements, minimising waste and maintaining adequate kitchen supplies.

Support and guide other kitchen staff or apprentices in food preparation and cooking procedures when required.





Skills and experience Certificate III in Commercial Cookery with at least two years of on-the-job training, or Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery; or at least three years of relevant experience.

Experience preparing and cooking meals in a commercial restaurant kitchen. Knowledge of food safety, hygiene and safe operation of kitchen equipment. Ability to prepare a varied menu, work efficiently during busy service periods and follow recipes and portion standards. Valuable communication, organisation and teamwork skills. Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings and weekends.
